ERTUĞRUL ATEŞ - 1954 Adana
The artist who graduated from Gazi Training Institute in 1977 continued his art education in Kingsway Princeton Collage and Bethnal Green Institute by going to England same year. He focused on Romantic Art.
He was influenced by William Blake and other British romantics.
He continued his works in England until 1979.
He held his first exhibition in Istanbul in 1980. The artist who continued his studies in Istanbul until 1987, settled in New York by going to USA that year. He signed an agreement with a collection group of 10 people, Ahmet Ertegun in particular, right after his second exhibition he held in New York in 1987.
He participated in a group painting exhibition with artists from all over the world in New York Japanese Culture Center in 1989.
He held his first personal painting exhibition in Ismael Art Gallery in May. This is followed by Los Angeles (1990), Ankara (1990), New York (1991), Istanbul (1991) and again New York (1992) exhibitions.
He was accepted to the Terry Dintanfass gallery which is among the famous 57th Street galleries. Then he held Barcelona and Copenhagen exhibitions. He was accepted to the ‘’Rising Artists’’ exhibition in Chicago Museum of Modern Arts.
He held many exhibitions in Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Palm Beach, Boston, South Hampton, New York. Mr. Ates who held exhibitions in many countries in the later years, founded MEB Academy Life in 2002.
He staged Hurrem Sultan Dance Show the same year. Ertugrul Ates maintains his life in Istanbul since 2003.
